Our day got off to a good start when we got a phone call saying Dayna (Ben's sister) gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Thea (pronounced Taya) Annelise was born at 4:54 am yesterday weighing in at a hefty 10# 7oz. All are doing well and we look forward to meeting the newest member of the family soon.
It was also much cooler yesterday than it has been here and we sure enjoyed the break. Our windows have made a big difference in keeping our house cool. The temperature reading at the slider on Wednesday was only 99...a big improvement over 127. The house has been staying about 4-5 degrees cooler which we are all thankful for.
Last night we had a BBQ at our house. Lou, Debbie, Louis, Rachel and Jason came over to join us for dinner. Following dinner we all went down to watch the fireworks. It was a good time and a fun way to celebrate the 4th. We did note however that something wasn't quite right with the ending to the fireworks show. They had what appeared to be the finally with lots of fireworks all going off at once. We all thought it was done when a few more stragglers ended up going off at the end. They were very out of place and we all felt like they left us hanging. Oh well, it was still a good time!
Hope you all were able to spend time with friends and family yesterday!

Your pics of the fireworks (kodak gallery) were as much as I got to see this year! ;) As late as Thursday evening, I had planned on taking Danelle to the annual 4th of July Kirkland parade at noon yesterday, and then viewing fireworks near the marina in the evening... Oh how plans change in the time frame of 3 hours.
Danelle still got to have homemade ice cream at a friends house yesterday evening though.
RE: the new poll --
Homemade ice cream has to be part of a day at the lake, and backyard bbq's ...
