Well, it was so hot in the house yesterday that I made a desperate call to Ben, threatening to buy a portable AC unit for the back of the house. The bedrooms were 85 degrees and I was roasting. Ben said to close all of the bedroom doors, and concentrate on cooling the living room (it was almost 82 in there when I called him). I asked how we would sleep and he said we will figure that out later. So we inflated the air bed on the living room floor and put Nicholas in the Pack-N-Play in the hallway and it was a comfortable (at least more so) 76.
Our new windows are being installed as I type! The first 4 are in and he is working on the slider now. That means that it is much hotter in here today (reading 90 right now) but worth it in the long run. We will see how things cool off this afternoon, but we have been offered a room at the farm if needed. I did another window temperature test this morning and the cool reading was 127 (granted the AC wasn't on). I am very excited to try it again tomorrow morning with the new windows in. Hopefully we will see some difference. Here is a bad picture (I'll try to get a better one later!

So far I have been able to empty/load the dishwasher, wash all 5 sets of blinds, vacuum everything but the kitchen (which I did sweep this morning ), put all of the rooms back together (blinds and things in front of/near the windows), swept off the front of the house, clean Nicholas' high chair, clean the Exersaucer and get it in the car to return to Kamie, and now update the blog. It is amazing the things you can get done without a kid around! Next on my list is to vacuum the kitchen and mop it after they are done with the slider. I'm not sure if I will have time to get to that before Bible study or not. I guess it depends on when they finish! I felt guilty sitting down to type, but it got so hot in here all of a sudden that a little break is needed.
Debbie said she would keep Nicholas while I went to Bible study. It will be nice to be able to focus on the lesson today, and not on Nicholas! The ladies have told me I can't come with out him...hopefully they will let me in anyway!
I can't believe how much my garden is growing. The squash and zucchini have more than doubled in size. I took some new pictures yesterday:
Zucchini (one of the plants)
Yellow Squash
Romaine Lettuce
Carrots
Ben thinks these look a little skimpy. I think they are looking good. We'll see who is laughing when we are eating carrots later this summer!
