Spokane Overnight

Sunday after church we went to Spokane. Ben and I left the boys with my parents and we went to see True Grit. It was a good movie that we both enjoyed. I don't remember ever seeing a movie that opens with a Bible Verse, then the music that is played throughout is mostly hymns. It was neat!

After the movie we ran home to check on the boys. Then we headed out for a nice dinner...just the two of us! What a treat to do something fun like this. We just don't do it often enough. Thanks Mom and Dad!

On Monday, we took the boys downtown to Mobius Kids. It is a hands-on children's museum. Both boys seemed to enjoy it...yes, even Eli! Here he is playing with the gears.

This was Nicholas' favorite exhibit. He loved this crane. You could turn it with the pedals, or turn the hand pedals to raise/lower the hook. He kept going back to this over and over.
We managed to pull him away from the crane for a while and he found the fire fighter clothes. Of course he had to pick the red car to match.

Another of the things Eli liked was this bead table. It was the perfect height for him. I think he felt pretty special standing at it!
Nicholas also enjoyed the sand/water table for a bit. Anything with dirt usually calls to this boy.
After Mobius we grabbed some lunch and then went shoe shopping. I got my first pair of Dansko shoes. I think this is the first time I have purchased a pair of shoes costing over $50. After wearing them for a day and a half, I can already tell they are worth it. Luckily, I didn't have to pay for them all myself. My in-laws gave me a $50 gift card for Christmas to use towards them (Thanks!). I also lucked out and there was a Groupon to a shoe store that carries them. I had a credit on my Groupon account so I only had to pay $15 for a $50 gift certificate. So, all told I spent under $40 for the shoes, which is great if you have ever bought Danskos before. I think my feet (and maybe my back, too!) will be much happier!!!
It was a quick trip, but I think we all had fun!
