Lazy Sunday

With Summer work coming to an end and harvest upon us, we treasure our days with Daddy. So, yesterday we started out by going to church like usual. I was filled with peace as I sat there with Ben holding Eli, quietly sleeping and Nicholas quietly playing. We sang a couple great hymns that make you feel filled with the Spirit. I know that God has given me each of these boys for a reason and I just felt especially blessed yesterday.

We decided yesterday was a good day to stick around the house and do a whole lot of nothing. When you have 2 kids, nothing isn't what it used to be, but still fun. here is what we enjoyed doing yesterday.
We decided fresh popcorn sounded like a good snack. Nicholas got the popcorn maker and the popcorn out all by himself before Ben and I even made it into the kitchen. He really is starting to be a good helper.

Daddy and Eli stood by, monitoring Nicholas' and my technique.

Eli's Days just aren't complete without some floor time and a few good smiling sessions. I love the interaction we get from him!

Debbie has been cleaning out Ben's old room to make an office for Lou to do his school work in. She has been sending home boxes of "stuff" for Ben to go through. Some stuff he put right into the trash, but much of it is being put to use already.

A few weeks ago History Channel ran a show called Top Shot. Ben enjoyed watching the skilled marksmen compete in various challenges with many kinds of guns, as well as knife throwing and slingshot challenges. It turns out Nicholas also loved this show and often requested to watch Top Shot. As you can imagine, many of his toys became "guns" if they had any resemblance to the shape of a gun. Well, one of the things that came home in the boxes of Ben's stuff was an old wooden rifle that I think Ben said he made it around age 8. Nicholas quickly took to this toy and is practicing his "shot".

We enjoy Sundays where we can spend time together!
