It being harvest, of course! Here is the chopper. This is the Claas that was purchased new last year. Ben has been quite impressed with it, although it has had one repair so far this year.

The chopper cuts the stalks just a few inches off the ground and feeds all of it through the machine and shoots it directly into the truck.

The trucks take the silage to the dairy where it is bagged and allowed to forment before later feeding.

On this particular day Nicholas was enjoying a chopper ride with Daddy. Eli and I ran around the field trying to get a few pictures.

At least it was a nice day to be running around the corn field.
