Well, 2 boys and 2 cases of Jaundice for us. Nicholas had Jaundice bad enough that he had to be hospitalized for it. This time the doctor knew it could happen and began testing for it in the hospital on Thursday before we went home. We went to the Dr.'s office on Friday to have his levels checked again and they were up. So he sent us home with the Bili Blanket. I told him I wanted to do anything to avoid being hospitalized again. I knew it would be so hard with Nicholas so he said we would use the blanket over the weekend and have the levels checked on Monday. Here is a picture of our little glow worm all wrapped up!
The sun came out and we decided to double duty it. We put the Bili Blanket around his middle and exposed his arms, legs and face next to the window.
Unfortunately the bulb blew
in the machine on Saturday evening and we had to go with out the rest of the weekend. The good news was on Monday his levels were not high enough to hospitalize him, and by Tuesday they were going down. So, for those of you who are keeping track we had to go 3 times for blood draws...ugh! But, our little guy is healthy and that makes it all worth it!
