Fun with the Cousins

This weekend two of my nieces were here visiting. We decided to show them what farm life is like. We piled the three kids into Ben's pick-up and off we went (Nicholas 2, Kayla 7, Hailee 3).
Our first stop of the day was to see some piglets. This one was a few days old, and was lots of fun to play with.
These two were about 25 minutes old and were still a little sticky. They were shivering cold, so we didn't keep them out long. The girls seemed to enjoy seeing piglets with the sows and learning how they drink from their mommies. They even got a dose of reality when they saw one little one that didn't make it.
Here are the kids running around with the weaner pigs. These pigs are a bit older and are pretty fast, but lots of fun to be around!
After seeing the pigs we headed home for lunch and a nap. Lunch was good, but the naps didn't happen. Apparently Nicholas doesn't sleep when there is so much excitement going on.
We headed back to the farm and found some hungry goats. The kids loved feeding them and I'm sure the goats weren't complaining either.
When you come to the farm it is always a treat to get a ride on a 4-wheeler. So, here are Kayla and Hailee with Ben and Nicholas with Kit as we left the goats and headed back to the farm.
Our last stop of the day was to see the dairy cows. First we went into the parlor to see them milking. Kayla was especially fascinated with this and was really paying attention to what was going on. Hailee also enjoyed this, but Nicholas didn't like the noise and cried most of the time we were in there. I didn't get any pics of this, sorry.
When we were finished watching the milking, we headed out to find some calves. The kids though they were pretty cute.
They really enjoyed feeding the claves some Hay. Hailee especially like this and it was hard to get her away from them!
It wouldn't be cool for the men to stand around and watch, you have to grab a fork and do some work!
While Hailee finished up feeding the calves, Kayla and Nicholas went to check out what these cows were up to. They were pretty interested in who was at their fence!

We had a very busy day! All 3 kids were in bed in asleep by 8:45 that night, I think we wore them out! We had a great time with our visitors and hope they come back again soon!
