What we have been up to

I don't remember if I told you this or not, but I have set up a blog for our house. It is being done with a couple other people who are building Hiline Homes also. So, you can link to it from our page (look to the left) and I will probably try to keep most of the house stuff there (at least the big details). With that being said, I was able to pick up our permits today...YEAH!

Things have been busy the last few weeks. I have been doing stuff for the house as well as the usual other things. My neighbor is expecting a baby boy at the beginning of April so we had a shower for her last weekend. I made her a diaper cake. It was my first one and I had a lot of fun doing it. Here is a picture of how it turned out. I'm thinking it would be fun to make them and sell them, I just don't know how the market is for them.
Nicholas has been as busy as ever. He is learning new words all of the time. It is so much fun to watch him learn and pick up new things. Yesterday he could tell me what the cow, sheep and horse said. He told me what the pig said a while ago, but hasn't done it recently. He wouldn't do any of the sounds today, so I know it is all if he wants to do it or not.
A while ago I posted how much he likes shoes. Well, he has learned how to put on his "work shoes" all by himself. In fact, last week it got to the point where he wanted them on the minute he got up...which meant I hadn't even gotten his pants on him yet!
This picture is classic Nicholas right now. He loves his shoes, but also the spatulas. This child loves to cook...still. He crawls up on a chair next to me at the stove and says "COOK!" He loves to be in the middle of cooking which means I find myself doing some of my cooking at nap time!

Nicholas is still a big fan of playing outside. He loves the sand box and exploring in the backyard. He would stay out there all day if I would let him. With the cold temperatures I have to limit him to an hour or so at a time. The other afternoon it was really nice so we stayed out for about 2.5 hours!

Isn't it funny how fast they grow up? I love making diaper cakes too, and have thought about making and selling them. I know people do sell them, but I think most people just make them themselves! I don't know though!
