Home Building Project

We officially closed on our land on Tuesday! Now we start the process of building! Ben and I met with the people at Hiline Homes Tuesday afternoon in Kennewick. We liked the model home they had and thought the staff was very knowledgeable. This morning we went and met with the banker and should have word in the next few days that we can proceed with our plans. The banker said a realistic time line is that our loan could close in January, at which point the building could start. It will be another 3.5-4 months or so from that until we move in. So, it looks like we could be in by the beginning of summer. Here is a picture of the home we are choosing.
This is what the floor plan looks like. It is 2576 sq. feet and we love it! We haven't actually seen this house built. It is one of their newest plans and only have 1 under construction right now (in Ellensburg). Ours will probably be the 2nd one they build! If you want to see more, visit their website (link above) where you can take a "virtual tour" of this house and see what it will look like!
We are excited to start the process and even more excited to be living out of town and have more space. We will be keeping you all updated as we go. Next time I'm out that way I will take a few pictures of the land for "before" shots and for those of you who want to see.

That's exciting. I like that floor plan... looks like one I would pick. :)

That's great Kelli! What did your neighbors think when they came over? Are they wanting to buy it? That would make selling it much easier, with a toddler anyway...

After finding time to do the virtual tour, I like this house quite a lot. Does it come standard with the vaulted ceilings like it shows in the demo? Can you have as a add-on french doors from the dining room to an outside patio (and would you do that?

Yes, the vaulted ceilings are standard. We are opting for no door(s) in the dining room as we want it to be it's own space. We could do that if we wanted...just choosing not to.

Hi!

I found your blog searching for Hiline info. We're considering building this floorplan in Ellensburg this winter. (Also looking at two smaller plans.) Exciting to see the floorplan come to life - thanks for sharing your photos!

Our son is named Nicholas, too!
