Last Sunday Ben, Nicholas and I spent some time in the yard. We trimmed the branches off of 3 of our trees. It turned into 2 pick-up loads of branches, so we did a good amount. The tree out front is looking a lot better. If you remember when we had our windows done I tried to take a picture of the front of the house, but it didn't turn out well because the tree was in the way.
This week Nicholas has had a cough, so we haven't done much. We skipped Preschool and library time due to the cough and today I had to miss my MOPS group. Debbie planned to watch him today until she came down with something herself! I thought about asking my neighbor to watch him, but he was being a little cranky this morning so I decided to just stay home.
I've been working with banks, well drillers and septic people this week. We are trying to get loans figured out and estimates done. I don't have much progress to report. There are a lot of rules about how many feet this or that has to be from something else. I'm learning so much already! Ben and I need to find the time to go out to our land and mark out where we want things to go. With it being harvest, the time just hasn't been there.
Ben has been busy trying to combine between rain storms. He takes every opportunity he gets, but the progress has been slow. They are hoping to get a full day in today. I'm just hoping the wind isn't messing things up for them. Ben desperately wants to finish before we go to Hawaii. We realized last night that we leave 2 weeks from today...I was thinking we still had 3 or 4 weeks...AHH! Guess I need to get busy getting things set for Nicholas while we are gone!
Speaking of Nicholas, he has become quite the climber lately. He loves the dining room chairs which means that you find them laying on their side sometimes (my only way of preventing him from climbing). He just can't seem to stay off of them. Sometimes I think he is drawn to them and can't help it! He has been known to climb onto the table and loves to play on the beds. We've had a few temper tantrums this week which has prompted me to start a "time-out" routine. He is really testing the waters with hitting and throwing blocks etc. He doesn't like having to stand in a corner and it seems to confuse him some. He ends up crying pretty hard, but he is going to have to learn some how! He still loves to cook and now stands at my legs crying if I don't give him a chair to stand on at the counter while I make dinner.

Hopefully that'll calm down in a little bit for you. I remember a couple months ago Caleb really started throwing tantrums, and he still does occassionally, but not nearly as bad. The climbing probably won't stop, but hopefully you can just get him to climb on certain things. That's what we've done. And time outs don't seem to work with Caleb yet, but he sure understands "5,4,3,2,1". Daddy started it and he responds well to it! Good luck!
