Our Walk

Every afternoon when we go out to get the mail, we end up going for a walk. Since the sprinkler was on, our walk started with playing in the sprinkler. I didn't prompt this face, he did it when he looked at the camera! And the reason he is all dirty is because he tripped and fell in the dirt pile he is standing in.

Nicholas loves to run down the sidewalk and as you can see from the picture he isn't afraid to go without me. This is how are walks usually begin.

A few houses down we always stop to look at the flags. With no wind yesterday, they weren't too exciting. This house is even more fun when the 2 little yippy dogs are out to greet us!
This fire hydrant is always good for a few minutes of entertainment. We have to touch it everyday. What makes it even more fun is that you can walk up the sloped cement in front of it to get to it.
On our way back home we found a bug. It was very interesting and took a close inspection.
When we got back by our house, we found another bug, just like the first. Nicholas never did get a hold of either of them, although I think he may have poked this one a time or two. Just as he would reach, they would run away and by the time he got up, walked closer and leaned back down the bug was just out of reach again.
When we got back to our house, I tried to teach Nicholas how to smell the flowers. Apparently it is very funny to watch Mom smell them as all he did was laugh at me!
And then Nicholas decided it was finally time to go inside. That is until he saw the neighbors pull up. So, we went and visited with Gracie and her mom and dad for a little bit before finally going inside for dinner. We had some apples that were getting a little soft so I made Apple Puffed Pancake and Bacon to go with it. Nicholas enjoyed his first try at Bacon.
At first I just gave him about a quarter of a long piece. He ate that up and I gave him another quarter. When that was gone I gave him his own half. He pretty much finished that also. That is the most success we have had with any meat, I think. Good thing he likes bacon our I think both of our families would have disowned him!

Haha... I love the bug pictures, especially the first one where he's inspecting it. Kind of looks like he's trying to break dance!

This is one of the funnest posts ever! This is a kid who, once he is old enough to be out on his own, will never be clean...
