Nicholas prefers to be in an appliance whenever possible. His favorite places are in the fridge and dishwasher. (Doors open, of course.) We usually remove him from the fridge so all the cold air doesn't escape, but sometimes Kelli lets him play in the dishwasher long enough for some pictures:
He also helps unload the storage drawer under the oven:
This is the first I've seen of it, but apparently Nicholas has learned to drink with a straw. Or to at least use the straw to get liquid to his mouth, at which point it surprises him a little and he doesn't always swallow it. He makes the same kind of mess drinking from a regular cup also. Someday he'll learn to drink from something without making a mess.
Kelli has started harvest. As you may know, she tried gardening this year. There were two zucchini (sp? I know it's not spelled zookeaney.) ready to go, so that's about 0.373 tons/acre so far. Still to be harvested are carrots, lettuce, and pumpkins, assuming the zucchini (sp? it's also not spelled xoukenie) don't take over the whole yard. She couldn't be more thrilled:
She baked the one in her left hand into some kind of cake, and we're hoping the neighborhood kids can give away the one in her right hand. They were giving away puppies for someone last week, and judging by the kind of luck they were having, we might have a lot of zucchinis (sp? - like it matters...) before this is all over.
Kelli's Note:
It is really the pumpkins that are taking over the garden...Ben just wanted to see how many ways he could try to spell zucchini. Also, I don't want to get rid of the other zucchini. I have plans for more bread to be put in the freezer. I'm sure before the summer is done I will be looking to give some away...but not my first two! Oh, and yes I was really thrilled!

ZUCCHINI
You had it right.
Yeah, I actually corrected him, but he still wanted to do his spelling thing for fun ;)
