The weather was much better for swimming today! It wasn't hot by any means, but with no wind it seemed much warmer than yesterday. The sun was also shining so that makes it feel a lot warmer. Our goal today was to get their faces wet, attempt to blow bubbles and get their whole heads wet. Nicholas doesn't know how to blow bubbles yet, but he does try to copy Mommy by putting his face in the water, which is a big step. I tried floating him on his back again today, but he just doesn't like it. It makes him very nervous, so we only try a few times for a minute or two. He loves being pulled forward with his arms so he "motor boats" around the water. We did some bobbing up and down to get his face wet. I started by bobbing him to his chin, then his nose, then his eyes and then all the way under! He let me do it quite a few times before he decided he had enough. Nicholas went down the octopus slide a few times before class and a few times after class. He gets a little nervous when I let go of him at the top and go around the side to pull him down, but likes splashing in the water at the end.
After class, Nicholas enjoys having a snack, so I fill up his Snack Trap with Cheerios and let him eat them. In the parking lot he was shoving a handful in his mouth when he let out a big belch...I think he may have swallowed a little water today!
When we got home he was still eating his cheerios, so I thought I would come in and set him on my lap and let him finishing eating while I started this Blog. After a few minutes I felt something wet. It was at that point that I remembered he still had on his swim diaper (which is not absorbent) and that he had just peed on me. So, after a break to change him into a dry diaper and clothes, we are all back to normal. Time to go think about lunch!
