A few days late

Well, I sat down on Sunday to write a few things, and of course, Nicholas woke up before I finished typing my first line. So, it is now Tuesday and I'm trying again. I spent a few hours working in the garden Saturday. I can't believe how much the pumpkins, squash and zucchini have grown in the last few days! They are huge! I found a few small carrots starting, and 1 cucumber has come up. Still not sure what happened to the lettuce!

Ben has been very busy the last few days. He has been leaving around 5:30 and doesn't get home until 9:00ish...depending on when things get done. Sunday he actually left here about 7:45 in the evening and didn't come home until 9:30 Monday night. He was able to sneak in a few hours of sleep during the wee hours of the morning at his parent's house. Here are some of the things he is either doing, or overseeing right now: chopping alfalfa, spraying weeds, hauling manure to fields, finishing up the planting, dammer diking fields and the list goes on. He is just hoping all of the stuff that needs to be done this week actually gets done, and he lives to tell about it!

Yesterday I had my first (since quitting) substitute teaching job. It was for a good friend of mine who teaches Kindergarten at my old building. She begged me to do it, so I am helping her out! It went well, and I didn't even shed any tears (and not too many from the kids either...it is Kindergarten after all)! Tomorrow I have to take her class on the annual Aquatic Center field trip. We will see how that goes. Debbie was going to watch Nicholas for me both days, but Jason (Rachel's husband) arrived home from Iraq yesterday (hooray!) so she and Lou drove over to Tacoma to be a part of the homecoming festivities. So, my neighbor agreed to watch Nicholas for the day. I usually watch her girl, so she was happy to help me out! Debbie will watch Nicholas for me tomorrow.

Well, Nicholas really wants to play with the mouse and keeps pressing buttons making it more difficult to type. So, that is all for now.
