Busy Day!

Yesterday turned out to be a great day! We had over 20 people here to help us celebrate Nicholas' Birthday and Father's Day. We had lots of food (thanks mom for running the BBQ!), cake, and fun. Nicholas quickly figured out how to scrape some frosting off with his finger, then lick his finger. He took a bite or two of the cake, but didn't do too much with it except dumping it off of the plate.

We all went out and gathered under the little shade our backyard has to open presents. Nicholas wasn't really into it. He did enjoy reading a card or two, and liked playing with the presents once they were open. Good thing his cousins Kayla and Hailee were there to help him open the presents!

Nicholas fell asleep on Daddy's lap and Hailee fell asleep in the stroller. So, Kayla entertained us all with a came of "try to through the magnetic wiener dog parts into the John Deere bucket." Turns out she can be quite the rule maker...don't try and cheat or you will have to miss 5 turns!

When the kids were awake we all took a walk down to the school so the kids could play on the toys before the ride back to Spokane. It turns out not just the kids had fun playing on the toys!

After getting my family on the road Ben and I took Nicholas out to the yard to play. Our yard is best in the evening since that is when it is shady! Nicholas played in the sandbox (he loved all the toys!) and on his new play set. He also managed to find some dirt to eat, and walked through some water. We have fun just watching him be a little boy!

We had such a fun day. Thanks to all who came and shared it with us...you made it that much more special! All of the pictures are on our Kodak website. I e-mailed you all a link this morning, so have fun looking!

What an awesome 1st Birthday Party. Nicholas, you are one lucky little guy! Looks like there are lots of cool pictures to help commemorate the Big Day!!!

It was great to see so many friends and family again. And nice to meet some new folks. Especially Jason, just home from Iraq (Thank You, Jason, for your service to our country!)

Thank you Ben and Kelli for hosting such a fun filled day. We enjoyed every minute and the food was terrific.

Blessings, Mom & Dad
