Bush Project

Here is my first attempt at putting pictures into my blog!

After a bad encounter with the front bushes that I have always hated...

I decided it was time to get rid of them. I have been wanting them gone for a long time and with the arrival of our new windows coming in 2 weeks, I thought we should do it now! Here is a before picture...although I forgot to take it before and had already cut some off of the first bush.

And after some trimming I am about half way done with this part.

I'll need Ben's help to dig up the root systems...ugh! I don't know whose idea these bushes were...but they have to be my least favorite landscape thing yet! The sky turned really dark a bit ago, so the second picture didn't turn out great. Hopefully I'll be able to post a new picture tomorrow showing all of the bushes gone!

It seems, now that I am home more, I have a lot more energy to spend working in the yard. Our yard is looking better than it has since we have lived here! I (we in some cases) have planted new grass seed next to the drive way, trimmed the tree out back, started the garden, and am actually keeping up with the roses and weeds...for the most part. I like to think that all of my labor will pay off when we sell this house some day!
