Family Visit

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Spokane to have a fun filled weekend. Bryan, Angie and family were coming into town, Kayla had a soccer game and Baby Samantha was going to be baptized. We didn't want to miss out on this fun time, so off we went.

Nicholas enjoyed the soccer game. Kayla did a great job playing, but Nicholas' attention span didn't last too long. So, he took her ball and went to play. We were surprised to learn that Nicholas knows how to dribble a soccer ball even though he has never been taught. I think we may be signing up for Soccer Tots next year!

The other thing Nicholas learned while at the game was how to roll down a hill. His cousins were having fun rolling but Nicholas wasn't getting anywhere. So, I told daddy that he was going to have to give him some help. Sure enough, one little bit of coaching and Nicholas was off. From that point on all he wanted to do was roll down the hill!

Here are all of the cousins enjoying the game. Nicholas is looking at Tristan, Trevor and Karissa are also with him on the blanket. Right behind Nicholas Hailee is sitting near her mom.

Kayla's team is orange and she is the one towards the middle of he picture with white sleeves. They played hard!

Of course another highlight of the weekend was meeting baby Sami. She was only 2 weeks at this point and I'm so glad Nicholas got the chance to see a newborn before we have our baby! At first he looked at her like with the "what is that?" look. But he quickly warmed up to her and kept requesting to hold the baby. So we let him hold her. He had the biggest most proud grin on his face. It was so touching. He was very gentle and really took to her.

Now if I can get him to like his own baby brother in a few weeks we will be doing great! What a fun time we had visiting our family.

Isn't it funny how the little boys are so interested in holding and seeing the babies? That is exactly how Jake was when his cousin Ali came to visit. Good luck when baby Ian comes along.
