Preparing for Easter

With a holiday seems to come many preparations. Easter is a fun time to prepare for by coloring eggs, and making candies and goodies...this year there were 3 kids here to help!

Here is Thea really getting into egg dying. She enjoyed it much more than I thought she would. She finished at least 3 eggs and had the red hands to show for it!

Danelle enjoyed this activity the most of the 3 kids. She liked to let the eggs get really dark and even experimented with doing 2 color eggs.
Nicholas enjoyed the activity also, although he wasn't near as into it as Danelle. He is still learning the concept and will probably be much better at it next year!

After egg coloring it was time to make a special treat for Easter. We took pretzels and put them out on a pan. Then the kids unwrapped a whole bag of Hershey hugs and put one on each pretzel. Then we put them in the oven to soften and when they came out the kids put 1 M&M on each hug. They look kind of like little eggs (at least the ones with the yellow M&M) and the kids and fun with it. They make quite the tasty treat!
My last preparation was to make the traditional Easter Bunny Cake. So, here it is all decorated and ready to serve!

Now we are ready for the big day!
