Family Room

Weekend before last we went camping with my parents up at Priest Lake (watch for that blog soon). On the way home we stopped to look at a few furniture places to see what sectionals would cost us. We ended up purchasing this: We got a great deal on it and drove back to Spokane the next day to pick it up. It is microfiber which is supposed to be great for kids.

When we went back to pick up the sectional, we also bought this:Well, the TV at least. That prompted another shopping trip to Wal-mart to get the TV stand, which meant me spending an afternoon to put it together.

Since the inside of the house is looking so complete, it was finally time to make the outside start to look a little more finished. So, we hired a painter and they were out last week to paint the house. They started the job and I ran to town to have the paint store shake the remainder of the paint. As I was coming home I noticed the paint color I had chose. I quickly called Ben and said, "Um...I think you better come down here and look at this color. You are going to hate it!" Sure enough we both hated it. Instead of the dusty blue I had intended for it to be, it turned baby blue on the house. Not cool. So, Debbie and I ran back to town and got 15 more gallons of paint in a darker color with a little more gray. Still not exactly what I was going for, but much better: So, between the nice siding, the life time paint, and 2 full coats of it, the painter said we really shouldn't have to paint this house again...like, ever!
This house building stuff starts to sound like the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Only one more big purchase that I can think of. My back has been hurting me so I really want a new bed...and if you are getting a new bed, you might as well get the bedroom set to go with it!

Boy,you need a big TV for that huge room! It looks even bigger in the photos even after the huge couch is in there.

This is a long shot- but I'm hoping you see this! We built a Hi Line home, too, and followed your blog during your construction phase. I remember you mentioning something about the rust stains left in your tubs- us, too (grrrrrr!!) I was wondering- did you ever find a solution for the stains? We have tried everything, and HiLine has yet to get back to us with a recommendation. It's driving me nuts! Thanks, Jessie Bates caspits@gmail.com
