Friday we got up and drove to Manhattan, Kansas home to Kansas State University. Ben was surprised at how much the town had changed in just a few years. He was able to talk with the man in charge of the tractor pulling team (which he was on) and learned how much the competition has changed since he was there (with the competition...he noted that nothing about the space they used had changed!). Some pics of the boys at K-State: ;We took the scenic route back to Leavenworth where we were an hour late to rehearsal dinner (we got invited since we were from out of town). Luckily things were running late for the wedding party too, so we didn't miss it! We went back to the groom's house after dinner for more time with all of Ben's old friends. Nicholas had a great time running around and playing with Will.
I got to see something new this trip. We were outside on the deck and I kept thinking my eyes were flashing. All of a sudden it hit me that I was seeing lightning bugs. This was a first for me. I didn't believe the guys when they told me how easy they were to catch until this:
My almost 2 year old came up and threw one at me. He then picked it up again and you can see he is handing the bug to Will while Snoop (the dog...get it Snoop dog...ha ha) watched.
Saturday we went out to breakfast with an old friend of Ben's. After breakfast we went to see a farm a few minutes outside of town. To Nicholas' delight there were even a few old sows kicking around as he had been asking to see the pigs since leaving Moses Lake on Wednesday! We went back to the hotel and took Nicholas for a swim before having a nap before the wedding. The wedding was very nice and included dinner and a reception at the local country club. Ben really seemed to enjoy seeing all of his old friends again and I enjoyed meeting them all. Nicholas got a new K-State hat and had to try Daddy's on over top of it on the plane.
Nicholas was also given another hat by one of Ben's friends, so he now has 4 hats of his own...which are best to be worn all at once, apparently.
We had a great time, even though this was a busy time to be gone!

I'm glad you guys had such a great time...escalators are really the greatest invention ever according to Caleb.
It makes me laugh that Ben and Nicholas have the exact same smile in the first picture while at K-State. Like daddy like son, I guess! Glad to see you had such a good time... now you have to get to packing and moving!
What a good set of photos! You packed a lot into just a few days.
