Nicholas is officially entering the 2's a little early, as do most kids! We've had some issues with him being clingy. He still seems to be ok with Daddy and Grammie, but other people just aren't an option right now. I've had to leave him a lot when doing house stuff and apparently it is getting to him. I've noticed the day after being left he has a much harder day with me. Luckily those days are settling down and we won't have too many coming up. Here's a picture of Nicholas wanting to go while Debbie was here with him.
He often talks in 3-4 word phrases and knows too many words for me to keep up with his word list. Some of the new ones that took us a while to figure are Holy Cow and Fire Truck...who would have thought? He is doing great with saying please and thank you as he doesn't even need reminders anymore. Yesterday I handed him something and he skipped right to you're welcome!
I've been spending a lot of time cleaning and organizing the house. I've been working on it on and off for a couple of weeks now, but after 2 full days last week, I'm done! I met with the realtor on Friday and our house was listed yesterday. We had our first showing last night...now all we have to do is hope more and more people come to look and someone makes an offer!
Last Monday Stan, a friend from church came to the house and sprayed all of the ceilings in the house. He decided they would need a second coat, so sprayed the great room, kitchen/dining and hallways so we could start painting that on Tuesday. He came back Tuesday night to spray the rest. Harold and Paula Hochstatter and myself started painting the house on Tuesday. I was so thankful for their help! We were able to paint the great room, dining room, butler's pantry, entry and 2 hallways all in 1 day! Then they came back on Wednesday along with their daughter and Ben and we were able to paint the family room, den, extra bedroom, 1/2 of Nicholas' room, the main bathroom, powder room and our bedroom. My parents came over Saturday night and we all headed out to the house and painted the rest of Nicholas' room, the master bath and the other 2 baths. It turns out the color I picked for the main bath and powder room looked WAY different on the walls and had to be changed. We also spent 1/2 the day walking around the house looking for places that need to be touched up or a second coat of trim or the ceiling oops' to be covered. But, the good news is that we are done!!! Also, a big thanks to Debbie for watching Nicholas those three days. It wouldn't have worked to have a toddler running around with wet paint on the walls. Here is a picture of him "helping" with his windowsill.
Here are a few pics. Keep in mind the color doesn't look quite right in the photos, but you get the idea. This is standing in the kitchen looking out with the dining room on the right and the great room on the left.
This is the family room. It looks a little more yellow in this picture. It is a tan color.
This is the hallway by the bedrooms which is the same tan as the above picture.
This is the hallway leading to the family room and the master. The tan is the same tan as the above 2 pictures.
This is a future child's room. I thought we would paint it now so we won't have to do it some day.
This is the master. It is a darker sage than what it shows.
I just realized I don't have any pictures of the new bathroom color or Nicholas' room done. I'll get on that!
Ok, here are the last two!
