Look what we got this time...

Yes folks, that is a skunk in the trap! We woke up to the sound of squirrels running and chattering in the back yard. We didn't know they were teasing a skunk in the trap.

Here is a picture of Ben sneaking up on the skunk. He was trying to avoid a spray.

This is about the point where the skunk sprayed.
Here is Ben pulling the skunk out of the water.
And this is what a dead, wet skunk looks like!
So, there you have it, our first skunk. I think I will make a call to the wildlife department today to see if the have a trap that they can't spray in. Other than the stink, it went pretty much as planned!

And now you get to do that about 6 more times ... the neighbors will wonder what's going on with the strong skunk smell every morning! But they all have skunks too (except those with dogs maybe).

YAY! Congratulations!!! You're on your way to a skunk free home, unless they get smart and start realizing that if they go in the cage, they don't come back! I wonder if that was mom or dad skunk... maybe it was dad and next time mom will lead all the babies in there at once!

We can only hope that Rachel is right! Who knows for sure if it was even on of "our" skunks. We can only wait and see!

You should just get the next one's stink glands removed and keep him for a pet. Not sure how kid (or people in general) friendly they are though.
